Cameron's 8th Grade Dance!

Cam's 8th grade dance was awesome! It was so fun helping him get ready for his big night. He looked so incredibly handsome and he had a blast with his friends! Preparations started way in advance, of course. We had to find the perfect clothes. We had to get his hair cut at the exact right time. We had to find a tie to match his beautiful date's dress--and that almost didn't happen! We had to design Camryn's (his date's name was also Camryn) corsage and have Mrs. Alison make it. We had to make some of the decorations for the dance and go help get it set up. So much fun! We love you Cameron and were so happy to see you excited and happy!

Davy sure did his fair share of work! Here he is making the beautiful tissue flower poms for the dance. And here I am helping Cameron shop for his special outfit. There's Chris on the left--he was supporting his buddy. That was just a stand-in tie so we could see if he liked the look. And he did! He did a nice job!

My friend Alison made Camryn's corsage. It was absolutely beautiful and looked stunning with her dress.

Here's the tissue flower decorations up at the school. There were 6 of them and they really brought all the other decorations together and made the room look so pretty. Joellen and I, and a lot of other moms got everything ready for the big night.

I rushed home to help Cam get ready. Here he is getting dressed. We bought his clothes from Express--dark gray pants and vest with a black shirt. We had a hard time finding pants that fit his long legs and skinny waiste. We had to special order them online so we could get a 34x30. Then we had to get the pants altered to fit his waiste. We finally found a tie online that we prayed would match her blush colored dress. We looked in every store we could think of and couldn't find one that worked. The tie was supposed to be delivered to our house the day before the dance, but it wasn't!! It showed up just hours before the dance on Friday, but it was perfect!! We were a little stressed about that to say the least!

Finally! It's time for the dance! Cameron and I went to pick up Camryn. She looked gorgeous!! They made a beautiful couple. The tie looked great!

And now we're off to Dow Park to take pictures with all their friends!

Here's one last picture showing these guys from just two years ago at the 6th grade dance.
 They sure have changed.

Cameron and Kamryn & Camryn and Dylan
They switched dates for the 8th grade dance, but we put them back in this order just to compare it to the one above. They've had some good times in junior high. Looking forward to high school next year.
I love you Cam.
